Fantastic! I am 71….please tell me all these candidates are much younger than me! We need young voices!

Bernie for interim president 2026!

That ship has unfortunately sailed when in 2016 when the DNC chose Hillary instead. I'll follow him and anyone he endorses this year and 2028. Look for that Bernie stamp of approval.

Democrats ran a woman against the current Felon President in 2016 and in 2024.

Phrixion's avatar

I'm all for a woman President. Hillary wasn't the one at that time. I believe the DNC needs to be overhauled. Too many politicians accepting PAC money. PACs are buying votes that belong to the people. If AOC or another Progressive woman were to run for office with Bernie's endorsement, I would 100% vote for her.

The fact is a lot of people are exhausted with career politicians that work for the lobbyists instead of them.

Apparently there are a lot of people who have a prejudice about the role of women in society and held that against the Democratic Party's 2016 and 2024 Presidential Candidate.

I really look at the candidate not their gender. I voted for Kamala Harris in 2024, but did not vote for Presidential in 2016. Why? Because I didn't think Hillary was the DNCs better choice. Not because I'm a misogynist.

It also felt like the DNC was attempting to pull the same BS Republicans did with both Bush presidents, with the Clintons in 2016. Our country was not looking for family legacy after going through 2 Bush Presidencies. In 2024, I can see why some people didn't vote for a last minute attempt at a candidate wirh Kamala Harris. They simply didn't know her well enough. While there might be a lot of people who are misogynists, especially with Republicans, not every man is one.

We are long overdo for a female President, but we still need to vote on their policy and their character. Who is the best candidate. Simply throwing a female candidate on the ballot because of the novelty does not automatically win my vote or others. I would support a candidate like AOC, because of her character and policy thus far. And Bernie endorses her. At the same time, I would not vote for a candidate that accepts AIPAC money, regardless if she's a woman or a man. I see what it's done to this country.

Much as I respect Bernie as one of the vanishingly small number of American politicians who makes any sense he is simply too old to be President. America need to retire all their politicians over 70 and let them be mentors instead of younger candidates coming through. Provided of course they are capable of putting aside their egos for such a task. Bernie is playing that role beautifully.

And President Trump isn't?

Linda Leee E E's avatar

At least Senator Sanders is not a felon with a get out of jail free card from S.C.O.T.U.S

He is the best candidate, in my opinion, for an interim president to get things ready for a fair and representative of the registered voters in the U.S.A. 2028 Presidential Election. Maybe Senator Warren ?

The problem isn’t age. It’s rigidity. Can happen at any age.

Nigel B's avatar

Absolutely I suspect you have completely misread my comments I'm a huge fan of Bernie and think Trump is a psychopath and a danger to us all.

Let us hope and pray that in the deeply corrupted system of American politics, this is the beginning of a change in the political leadership towards truly progressive, populist representation.

Diverse socialism is the future. We the people most keep marching in the streets together. Let’s sing the no kings anthem to destroy the MAGAt fascists: https://democracydefender2025.substack.com/p/no-kings-anthem

The DNC should be taking note of all of this. The same old formulas will not work anymore. We talk about Republicans being corrupt, but we see the same corruption in the Democratic Party. In order to survive, it must root out the same corruption. And this begins with eliminating super PACs.

Helena O’Kekai's avatar

What specific corruption are we seeing in the Democratic Party? Biden and Obama didn’t increase their net worth by billions with merch like crypto, meme coins, bibles, shoes, watches and mobile phones!

Just one instance is with Data Centers. Tech aligned PACS, AI firms, and data center companies are pouring millions into the 2026 midterms for Dems. Now Democratic candidates refuse to push against data centers from which their constituents want protection.

Thank you for everything, Bernie. We desperately need you right now.

I think your push to make AI be owned by the American public is incredibly important. Let's elect a next president who will make this happen.

We love you, Bernie! And we watched the DNC screw you over. TWICE! How much different the world and USA would be had you won.

Anton Kleinschmidt's avatar

Bernie, are you up to throwing your hat in the ring in 2028 with AOC as your running mate

A Democratic insurance commissioner is VERY important. After President Obama passed the Affordable Care Act, ruby red Georgia elected a Republican insurance commissioner. He refused to even put the ACA on the state website to choose a health insurance plan. Calling into the office they would not even discuss the ACA! All just very expensive private insurers.

Progressive Primaries! Big Win: ACLU Illinois just protected LGBTQ youth in the DCFS system. I fostered a kid after their previous adult made them go to Christian Convergance camps, so glad the right people heard our complaints and acted accordingly!
